26th MFPI Congress (Still Under Construction)

Mt. Malindang
Ozamis, Misamis Occidental
April 1-9,2005

This is the longest trip ever. Not just in the "geographical" sense since Ozamis is a good 13 to 14 hours away from Davao by bus, but also because we spent a total of 8 days all-in-all for this trip. Why eight days? Since we took some sidetrips also while at it. In fact, the "sidetrips" came first than participating in the Congress itself. Eight days! Until now I'm still "reeling" from the experience. But it was fun. As usual, it was a fun-filled, activity-filled, adventure-filled eight days. It was tiring but a pretty complete trip all the same.

With the sidetrips (yup! sidetrip"s"!) in mind, we left for Cagayan early -- in the eve of April 1 which is a Friday. The Congress is due to start on the Tuesday yet, with Wednesday being the climbing proper. So we were really a few days ahead.

On the bus bound for Cagayan de Oro City. Actually, Joan was not with us. She wanted to come though but she could not take a leave at work.  Posted by Hello

Arriving in Cagayan. Stuck at the Bus terminal waiting for Jay who was coming in from Cebu. He had to attend a seminar there so we agreed to meet in Cagayan to go together to Ozamis.  Posted by Hello

Finally, Ozamis!!!! On Board our Limousine! This "sturdy" tricycle will take us all the way to Sinacaban, a munisipyo all the way out of Ozamis City. Quite far huh? But we managed it just the same. Trcicycles such as this one had been our constant transpo and means of getting around the city during our stay there. Posted by Hello

Settling down in Naomi's Botanical Garden

Ok ka lang B? Nasobrahan ka ata kain nung kinilaw sa MOAP :) Bolo gamely riding at the front end of the tricycle on our way to Naomi's Botanical Garden. Someone had to keep the tricycle's balance since the road to the venue is on an uphill.  Posted by Hello

Setting up camp. We were the first ones to have arrived at the basecamp. Having chosen our spot, we immediately set up camp.  Posted by Hello
